Stuttering

My son Joe has always stuttered. He started speech when he was 3 1/2 through the doctors and the school dist. It use to be so bad that we would get more reactions from adults then kids. There was one time when he was 4 he went up to a group of kids and asked if he could play with them and they asked him if he was dumb because of how he talked. That broke my heart I was so sad for him because that is when he noticed he talked different and it made me so mad that some parents don't teach there kids about how not to hurt other peoples feelings. My kids always been taught to not notice race, handicaps, or any other differences in other people. If they do notice they have enough respect not to stare or say rude things about it. He started to not want to talk as much to anybody not even us but to make matters worse he has a very soft raspy voice which makes him sound like he is always sick because he has calluses on his vocal cords that we have chosen to keep as is for many reasons. When he started school he was very quiet and I have had to talk to all of his teachers up till this last school year which was 4th grade. As he has got older his stuttering has got better but it is still there and he still gets speech therapy twice a week. I have grown so accustom to it that it's not a big deal to me anymore and  I really didn't think he even noticed it anymore. Well he does and I found that out tonight. My kids make silly videos that I do get to approve of first that they put on YouTube. He asked me to watch a new video he made and to tell him what I notice. He was so excited as I watched it and I honestly couldn't come up with anything then he had me watch it again and said come on mom it something really really good and I still was clueless he said it starts with an S. I had to tell him sorry but I didn't know, he said I sound normal in that video I don't stutter as much as I normally do. I was surprised by that and had to ask why he noticed that and he said cause I always stutter everyone notices it. I was very sad that he even thinks about it at all and that there was something I can do but I don't think there is anything anyone can do. I have looked and read a lot and have came up with nothing.

Kevin was a little worried

So Kevin was online taking a college class when I noticed he stopped and was starring at Alyssa with a funny look on his face. I asked him what's wrong and all I got in response is a nod of his head after about 3 minutes

Kevin- "very quietly asked her" um so what are you doing Alyssa?
Alyssa-  making a skirt
Kevin- but that is a skirt
Alyssa- I know " with a look of omg he's such a dork on her face"

Then I but in and tell him she is making a skirt for her pig out of that skirt because it is to short on her.
Kevin- Oh thank god I thought she was trying to cut the skirt to make it shorter and I noticed you wernt even telling her not to do that and it scared me ALOT!!

           I found it very amusing to find him stress over that ;-}

Prefense Alcohol-Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer Review and Giveaway

Prefense is a silica based hand-sanitizer that offers 24 hours or 10 hand washes protection from bacteria and fungi. Prefense contains soothing botanical to prevent drying, redness and chapping.

Advantages of Using Prefense-
~Sanitizes skin and nails on contact
~Proactively and persistently offers protection from germs for up to 24 hours without reapplication.
~Forms a protective antibacterial barrier on the skin
~Once dry, anti-bacterial activity remains effective through 10 hand washings or 24 hours.
~Long lasting protection against germs and bacteria
~Stops skin to skin transfer of germs
~Colorless product is invisible on application and will not stain skin or clothing
~Water based product is non-flammable.

My personal thought with this stuff is that it works great. I am a freak when it comes to sanitizers and it is hard to find ones that don't leave your hands sticky, dry, and or left with a nasty smell. When I used the Prefense hand sanitizer it left my hands smooth and not-sticky. The hand sanitizer did not have a strong odor and left my skin feeling moisturized instead of dried out. I felt comfortable using this stuff on my 2 year old nephew. I was not worried about him putting his hands in his mouth or anything like that being that it's known for being 100% poison free.

One person could win a big 8oz Prefense which offers 640 applications!  With one spray lasting all day, that one bottle of Prefense could potentially last one user almost 2 years! This giveaway is open to U.S Residents only.

How to Purchase-
~Prefense just came out with our first ever Combo Pack! It's only available at the Prefence website and there price is there LOWEST price ever on Prefense products at only $7.99! Considering that both items in the combo pack are $6.99 by themselves, it's like you're buying one and getting the other for a dollar!
~You can also buy it on Amazon

Back to school shopping

My 3 kids and I went school supply shopping and I swear every year there school list grows and becomes more expensive. We headed out to Target to get most of there school supplies and it only took us 1 1/2 hours in the school supply section. I swear I felt so lost trying to gather the stuff for all 3 list and trying to let the kids pick there own colors of folders, sharpeners, ext and there own backpacks and lunch boxes but of course the cute stuff  cost so much more money so I was trying to let them help to make starting back to school more exciting but trying not to spend a million dollars at the same time. I remember when I was in school our school list was nothing like it is now. Once they start school they still get letters home asking for more supplies. Well our final total after getting 90% of there supply was at about $150 but we still have 1 more back pack, 2 lunch boxes, a pair of gym shoes to stay at school for p.e, a couple more supplies on there list, and school clothes then I will have officially gone crazy, broke, and sad all at the same time. "Sad because this just means my kids are getting older"
